Introduction: Congratulations, you have just purchased one of
the most reliable fog machines on the market today! The Fog Storm
1200HD™ commercial fog machines have been designed to perform
reliably for years when the guidelines in this booklet are followed.
Please read and understand the instructions in this manual carefully
and thoroughly before attempting to operate this unit. These instruc-
tions contain important information regarding safety during use and
maintenance.

Caution: Fog Machines may set off Smoke Alarms!
• Be sure to save the packing carton in the unlikely event the unit
may have to be returned for service
• Do not spill water or other liquids into or on to your fogger. Be
sure that all the fog uid is kept inside the uid reservoir
• Be sure that the local power outlet match that or the required
voltage for your fog machine
• Do not remove the top cover under any conditions. There are no
user serviceable parts inside
• Disconnect the unit’s main power when left unused for long peri-
ods of time
• Never connect this unit to a dimmer pack
• Do not attempt to operate this unit, if it becomes damaged in anyway
• Never operate this unit when it’s cover is removed
• To reduce the risk of electrical shock or re, do not expose this
unit rain or moisture
• Do not attempt to operate this unit if the power cord has been fray-
ed or broken. Do not attempt to remove or break off the ground
prong from the electrical cord. This prong is used to reduce the
risk of electrical shock and re in case of an internal short
• Disconnect from main power before making any type of connection
• Never block the ventilation holes. Always be sure to mount this
unit in an area that will allow proper ventilation. Allow about 6”
(15cm) between this device and a wall
• This unit is intended for indoor use only, use of this product out-
doors voids all warranties
• Always mount this unit in a safe and stable matter
• Please route your power cord out of the way of foot trafc. Power
cords should be routed so they are not likely to be walked on,
pinched by items placed upon or against them
• The unit should only be serviced by qualified service personnel
when:
A. The power-supply cord or the plug has been damaged.
B. Objects have fallen, or liquid has been spilled into the unit.
C. The unit has been exposed to rain or water.
D. The appliance does not appear to operate normally or
exhibits a marked change in performance.

The new Fog Storm 1200HD™ fog machine features a fog juice
level sensor. When the fog juice level is low, a green L.E.D. will glow.
When the fog juice level reaches a lower level, a bult-in sensor inside
the reservoir will automatically shut off the pump. This will greatly
expand the life of the pump. The Fog Storm 1200HD™ includes the
revolutionary new heating element that has been specially designed
to prevent excessive particle build up that can cause premature
fogger failure. A larger copper tube is spiraled inside the heater to
prevent clogging. The Fog Storm 1200HD™ include a wide-angle
spray nozzle and long-life pump that was specially designed for high
performance fogger output. The Fog Storm 1200HD™ also includes
a 25 foot (eight meters) remote control, that may be removed for peri-
ods of non-use. An optional wireless remote control is also available
from American DJ . This wireless remote increases the functionality ®
of the fogger greatly.

Fog Storm 1200HD™ Set-Up
1. Open the shipping carton and carefully remove the unit from the
shipping carton.
2. Be sure to remove all the packing material especially around the
nozzle.
3. Set the fog machine on a flat dry surface. Locate the included
bracket from the package and install it using the supplied hard-
ware to the side casing. Note: The bracket is an optional accesso-
ry and may not be used if desired, however if you intend to sus-
pend the unit from truss the bracket must be used.
4. Remove the fluid reservoir and fill it with American DJ branded ®
fog juice only and replace the reservoir.
5. Place the feeder tube with the filter deep inside the reservoir and
tighten the cap.
6. Firmly attach the remote control unit to the rear remote control
socket on the unit.
7. Plug the unit in to a matching power supply. Wait approximately
five minitues for the fogger to reach normal operating temperature.
8. Follow the operating instructions on the next page for proper
operation.
Fog Storm 1200HD™ Operating Instructions
Always be sure to maintain an adequate supply of American DJ ®
Brand Fog Juice™ in the fluid reservoir. A green L.E.D. on the
front of the unit will glow to warn you when the fog juice is run-
ning low. The pump will shut off automatically when the fog juice
reaches a certain level. Running the fog machine dry will cause
pump failure and or clogging. This is the largest cause of failure
in fog and haze machines. Only American Fog Juice™ is recom-
mended and not all fog juice is created equal.
Remote Operation: The remote control comes connected to the
fog machine but can be removed to access the 25 foot cord. Once
the machine is plugged in and turned on, a red power L.E.D. on the
remote will glow indicating the unit is receiving power. The unit has
a warm up time of five (5) minutes. After the unit has warmed up, a
GREEN L.E.D. on the remote will light indicating the unit is ready to
emit fog. To emit fog, simply press the green button on the remote
for desired length of time. If the GREEN L.E.D. is on and fog does
not come out after holding the button down for 30 seconds, check
the fluid tank and hose to make sure there is fluid going through the
hose.
Optional DMX Timer Remote: With the optional DMX Timer
Remote you can operate the fog output automatically and turn the
Fog Storm 1200HD™ into a one channel DMX intellingent unit. The
DMX Timer Remote must be connected to both the Fog Storm
1200HD™ and a universal DMX-512 controller such as the Elation ®
DMX Operator™ or Show Designer.™ WHEN THE DMX MODE IS
ACTIVE THE TIMER FUNCTION WILL NOT WORK.
The timer function allows fog to be emitted at designated intervals.
The remote has three (3) L.E.D.s that indicate different functions;
- The RED L.E.D. located to the left will indicate the timer and con-
troller is turned on and is activated.
- The GREEN L.E.D. will indicate fog output is available and ready.
- The RED L.E.D. located to the right is for manual fogging, wait for
the GREEN L.E.D. to light up, then press the button.
The remote also contains two rotary knobs.
- The Duration knob serves two functions 1) Turns the timer on and
off. 2) Sets the timers duration (Length of fog output).
If you experience low fog output, pump noise, or no fog output at all,
disconnect and discontinue use immediately. Do not attempt to con-
tinue pushing the remote control’s activation button as this may dam-
age the fog machine. Check fluid level, the external fuse or breaker,
remote connection, and be sure the wall outlet is sending power. If
all of the above appear to be okay, and the unit fails to operate cor-
rectly, the unit will require service. Please contact American DJ . ®

Fog Storm 1200HD™ Trouble Shooting
The Fog Strom HD™ series fog machines carries a one year (365
days) limited warranty. Please fill out the enclosed warranty card
to validate your purchase. All returned service items whether under
warranty or not, must be freight pre-paid and accompany a return
authorization (R.A.) number. The R.A. number must be clearly written
on the outside of the return package. A brief description of the prob-
lem as well as the R.A. number must also be written down on a piece
of paper and included in the shipping container. If the unit is under
warranty, you must provide a copy of your proof of purchase invoice.

(800) 322-6337.
Fog Storm 1200HD™ Warranty Registration
- The interval knob sets the amount of time in between fog output
from 30 seconds to 10 minutes. Turing these knobs in a clockwise
direction will increase there values, turning them in a counter-
clockwise direction will decrease their values.
Caution: Before removing or replacing the remote control unit
disconnect the power cord.
