Tone Hammer Preamp
The Tone Hammer Preamp is the ultimate tone-shaping tool, offering a fully
sweepable midrange with bass and treble controls for precise tonal shaping
and studio-quality EQ. It features a pristine D.I. with pre/post switching and
ground lift, ensuring maximum flexibility in any setting. With an independent
Drive control and footswitch, you can easily dial in added saturation and grit for
tube-amp inspired tones built-in headphone output and auxiliary input, . With it’s
the Tone Hammer Preamp ready for wherever the music takes you at home, is —
on stage, or in the studio.

Functions
A . Top Panel:
Gain Controls input sensitivity level –
Treble - - 18 dB @ 4 kHz +/
Mid Level - - 17 dB of cut or boost +/
Mid Freq 180 Hz to 1 kHz –
Bass - - 18 dB @ 40 Hz +/
Drive Adjusts an additional gain structure and EQ curve to enhance –
saturation while shaping the tone with a tube amp-inspired EQ. As you
increase the gain, the bass tightens, the treble smooths, and the
midrange focuses for a more refined, responsive sound. The higher you
push the gain, the more saturated and dynamic the tone becomes. This
control works interactively with the Gain knob, allowing you to fine -tune
and experiment to achieve your perfect sound.
Volume Controls output level –
Engage - Toggles between on / bypass (blue LED indicates on)
Drive Engages the Drive control –
Headphone Mix Control mix of bass signal and aux-in headphones –
B. Top Side Panel:
In - 1/4 " input
Aux In 1 aux input for music device –/8 ”
Out 1/4 – ” output
Headphones Out 1/8" headphones output –
DC IN 18v. This is a standard 2.1mm DC jack. The center terminal polarity –
is negative.
C. Left Side Panel:
DI Out - XLR balanced DI out
Pre / Post Control Pre: Your signal goes to the DI XLR output before your –
Gain and EQ settings. Post: Gain, EQ, and Master settings will be sent to
the DI XLR output jack.
Ground Lift Control If there is a hum when using the DI there may be a –
ground loop. In many cases pushing in the Ground / Lift button can fix this
problem.

E. Headphone Out
The Tone Hammer Preamp features a headphone out for silent practice. Use the
Aux-In 1/8 for connecting your laptop, phone, or audio source and the ”
Headphone Out 1/8" out for your headphones. To adjust the overall headphone
volume, use the main Volume control. To adjust the balance of your Aux-In to
Headphone Mix, the Headphone Mix control just above the Volume control.
Warranty USA
Aguilar Amplification’s products are covered under warranty to the original
owner against defects in materials and workmanship. Aguilar products are
under warranty for a period of 3 years. Tubes are covered by the warranty for a
period of 90 days and speakers are covered for a period of 1 year.
The warranty period starts from the date of purchase from an authorized Aguilar
dealer. Your sales slip or purchase invoice is necessary for warranty service.
