Requirements

Source Device (s)

The following equipment must be installed on the source device or

computer that acts as a source of VGA/Audio content:

• HDB-15 connector

Receiving Device

•ATEN VB552 (VGA Over Cat 5 Repeater)

•ATEN VE200R (Audio/Video Extender)

Hardware Installation (B)

• Before beginning the installation procedure, ensure that all equipment to

be connected is powered off.

• To prevent damage to your installation, make sure that all devices are

properly grounded.

1. Connect one end of the VGA/Audio cable to the video and audio ports

on the source device (e.g. computer or DVD player).

2. Connect the other end of the VGA/Audio cable to the Video In and Audio

In ports on the VS1504 / VS1508.

3. If you are cascading the VS1504 / VS1508, use Cat 5e cable to connect

Unit to Unit Port on the parent device to the Cascade In port on the child

device.

4. Use Cat 5e cable to connect the Unit to Unit Port on the parent device to

the Unit to Unit Port on the receiving device.

5. Plug the monitor’s video and audio cables into the Video Out and

Audio Out ports on the VS1504 / VS1508.

6. Using the power adapter supplied with this package, connect the

VS1504 / VS1508 to an AC power outlet.

7. Turn on the source and display devices.

Note: Compatible receiving device is the VB552 VGA Over Cat 5

Repeater/VE200R Audio/Video Extender

Setting the Local RS-232 Timeout

There are three options: 30 secs (default); 5 secs; and disabled

• Press and hold the Local Serial Port Selection pushbutton for two

seconds or more until the Local Serial Port Selected LED ashes every fl

two seconds to show that the timeout is changed to 5 sec.

• Press and hold the Local Serial Port Selection pushbutton for two

seconds or more until the Local Serial Port Selected LED ashes every fl

second to show that the timeout is changed to 30 sec.

• Press and hold the Local Serial Port Selection pushbutton for two

seconds or more until the Local Serial Port Selected LED ashes every fl

half second to show that the timeout has been disabled.

Installation du matériel (B)

Hardware installieren (B)

• Schalten Sie vor der Installation alle anzuschließenden Geräte aus.

• Um eine Beschädigung Ihrer Geräte zu vermeiden, müssen alle Geräte

ordnungsgemäß geerdet sein.

1. Verbinden Sie das eine Ende des VGA/Audiokabels mit den Grak- und 

Audioausgängen der Signalquelle (z.B. Computer oder DVD-Player).

2. Verbinden Sie das andere Ende des VGA-/Audiokabels mit den Grak- 

und Audioeingängen am VS1504 / VS1508.

Instalación del hardware (B)

•Antes de iniciar el proceso de instalación, asegúrese de que todos los

Trois options sont possibles : 30 s (par défaut) ; 5 s ; et désactivé

RS-232-Zeitüberlauf für lokales Gerät einstellen
