Audison offers a harness that allows to bypass the ASD module “Active Sound Design”, which is present in

many 2015-2021BMW and MINI models and reproduces the engine sound in the audio system.

NOTE: The BMWs equipped with iDrive7 generate the ASD engine note internally and it must be coded off to disable it.

In 2015-2021 BMW andMINI the ASD module is next to the OEM amplifier in amplified systems (ASD can

be present in some deck-power systems).

The ASD Bypass harness plugs in between the ASD module and the car harness, and routes the audio path

around the ASD module. This keeps the ASD module powered and reporting on the CAN network, thus

allowing any software installation (missing modules can prevent a correct software installation).

In case the ASD Bypass connector has a different shape and it doesn’t plug into vehicle harnesses, it can be

simply modied for successful installation by removing the external housings as shown below.

Note: Test for proper tment and operation before reassembly! Do not bend pins!

VEHICLE HARNESS > ASD BYPASS:

-Disassemble the male connector OEM (fig.1, 2 and 3).

-Place the ASD Bypass white connector as shown in

fig.4, insert the connector “A” (fig.3) in the top side

and the connettor “B” (fig.5 e 6) in the bottom side.

-Use a clamp to avoid unplug of A and B

connectors(fig.7).

ASD BYPASS > VEHICLE HARNESS:

-Disassemble the male connector of the ASD Bypass

(g.1, 2 and 3).

-Locate the OEM amplier with nned side upwards,

insert the connector “B” in the top side and the

connector “A” in the bottom side (g.8).
