ABOUTYOUR AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM
Identifying Your System
Your new Bryant air conditioning systemis what we call a ”split
system.It has an outdoor unit and an indoorunit connected to
each other with coppertubing called refrigerant lines.Eachof
these units has a ratingplate withthe model andserialnumbers
you will need to referencewhen calling an authorized Bryant
dealer about your system.
Take a few moments now to locate those numbers andrecord them
in the spaces provided on the cover of this booklet.
USING YOUR NEW BRYANT SYSTEM
Your Bryantair conditioning system is controlled by a
wall--mounted thermostat installed inside yourhome.Because
there are somanythermostatsavailable, pleaserefer tothe owners
manual supplied with your thermostatfor complete details on
system operation.
EVOLUTIONtOPERATION
Ifyou own an Evolutionttwo--stage air conditioningsystem, you
may notice your system runs for longer periods of time.Nearly
80% of the time it’s running, itis operatingin low--stage, and your
indoor temperature will remain more consistentwith fewerdrafts,
betterhumidity control,enhanced comfortand enhanced energy
efficiency.
COOLING YOUR HOME
For cooling operation, make sure theSystem orMode control is set
for Cooling.Then, adjust the Temperaturecontrol toyour desired
setting.Finally,use the Fan control toselect Automatic (turns on
and off as cooling is needed) or On (runs continuously).
OPERATION UNDER EXTREME
CONDITIONS
Your air conditioner will run as long as necessary tomaintain the
indoortemperatureselected on yourthermostat. On extremely hot
days, your air conditioner will run for longer periods at a time than
on moderate days.Your system will also run for longer periodsof
time under the followingconditions:
SFrequent opening of exterior doors
SOperating laundry appliances
STaking hot showers
SMore than the usual number of people present in the home
SMore than the normal number of electric lights in use
SDrapes or blinds are open onthe sunny side of the home
ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
Simple,routine maintenance as describedbelow will enhance your
air conditioning systemsability to operate economically and
dependably. Always remember the following safety precautions:

Disconnect all electrical power to theindoor air handler or
furnace beforeremoving accesspanels toperformany
maintenance.Disconnect power toboth the indoor and
outdoor units.
