Treble Booster

Congratulations on your purchase of the The Screaming BIRD. The small enclosure insures a

pedal board friendly fit while delivering a treble frequency boost that is powerful and defined.

The

Screaming BIRD

is an Analog treble booster in a compact Nano enclosure. It was

specifically designed for the guitarist who is looking for a simple control to deliver a treble

character that cannot be obtained with their guitar or amplifier alone. Up to 20 dB of

treble boost is possible allowing you to add a high frequency edge to any instrument.

With a little experimenting you will see that The Screaming Bird opens new horizons to

the top end of any instrument.

- THEORY OF OPERATION -

CONTROLS

Plug your Guitar or selected instrument into the

INPUT

jack of your Screaming BIRD and

the output to your amplifier. Plug the DC adaptor into the

96DC-200

jack and then plug

the DC adaptor into a wall outlet. The 9 volt battery also works. The

STATUS

LED

indicates when the effect is switched on.

There are only two controls on The

Screaming BIRD

. The on/off footswitch engages

and disengages The Screaming BIRD and the rotary Boost knob reacts like a specific high

frequency boost control. The higher the Boost knob is turned up the more gain is applied.

The boost knob is really a volume control. At the maximum setting you receive 20 dB of

gain above 1.6kHz topping at 2.4kHz. Understanding how your instrument and amplifier

react to the

Screaming BIRD

is important. When setting up for the first time, be careful

with the Boost control and experiment with The Screaming BIRD and your amplifier at

different settings. At once you will hear the biting top end and potential that The

Screaming BIRD provides to your overall tone.

WARNING:

For long term use, it is advised that you use an optional

Electro- Harmonix 96DC-200 adapter with The Screaming BIRD. Do not use

any other DC adapters. Using other DC adapters, even those made by

Electro-Harmonix, could cause harm to the unit, the adapter or you. The

Screaming Bird can also be used with 9 volt batteries.
