EN: OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Thank you for choosing the Pro Paludarium. This enclosure
is fully assembled, except for the bottom drain. Please follow
the steps below to ensure proper setup and functionality:
Designed with Purpose
The Exo Terra Pro Terrarium and Pro Paludarium are thought-
fully engineered to create the ideal environment for small to
medium-sized reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates. Whether
you’re building a lush paludarium or a bioactive habitat, these
enclosures provide the perfect blend of form and function.
Product Use Advisory
This terrarium is designed for amphibians and small to medium
reptile species. It is not intended for housing larger or more
powerful reptiles (e.g., adult monitors, tegus, large snakes), as
these animals may exert significant force on the lid or frame and
enclosure components. Always select an enclosure appropriate
to the size, weight, and activity level of the animal.
TO ENSURE THE SAFETY AND WELL-BEING OF YOUR
ANIMALS, WE RECOMMEND THE FOLLOWING:
1. Optimal Fit: These enclosures are best suited for animals
such as dart frogs, geckos, tree frogs, small snakes, and similar
species.
2. Know Your Animal: They are not intended for housing larger
or more powerful reptiles (e.g., adult monitors, tegus, large
constrictors), as these animals may exert significant force on
the lid or frame.
3. Secure Setup: The lid must be properly aligned and fully
locked in place using the integrated locking knobs to ensure a
secure seal.
4. Added Security: For particularly strong or escape-prone
species, consider using external clips or fasteners to reinforce
the lid and prevent any unintended openings.
5. Smart Selection: Always choose an enclosure that matches
the size, strength, and behavior of your animal to maintain a
safe and enriching environment.
BY SELECTING THE RIGHT ENCLOSURE AND FOLLOWING THE-
SE BEST PRACTICES, YOU’LL ENSURE A SECURE AND LASTING
HABITAT THAT BOTH YOU AND YOUR ANIMALS CAN ENJOY.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
• Carefully remove all packaging materials.
• Place the terrarium on a flat, level, and stable surface or a
dedicated cabinet.
• Read this guide thoroughly before use to ensure optimal
safety and performance.
INSTALLATION OF THE BOTTOM DRAIN
CAUTION – The bottom part of the terrarium will be water-
proof once the tubing, elbow-connector and tap valve are
connected to the drain. The drain allows hassle free water
changes and excess water removal.
1. Attach the tubing to the outflow of the lower Drain nut.
2. Hold the drain nut in its place on the pre-drilled hole and
measure where to install the elbow-connector to allow proper
water flow.
3. Cut the tubing in the correct place, to install the elbow-con-
nector.
4. Unscrew the nut from the elbow-connector and slide it over
the tube.
5. Insert the tube as far as possible over one spout of the
elbow-connector and tighten the retaining nut (hand-tight) until
you feel pressure & resistance.
6. Repeat this action with the remaining spout and tubing.
7. Screw the nut of the tap valve further over the screw part and
insert the tube as far as possible over the incoming spout of the
tap valve. Then tighten the nut again (hand-tight) until you feel
pressure & resistance.
8. Clean the glass surrounding the pre-drilled hole of the terra-
rium. To ensure a proper seal, the glass surface must be free of
any dust or debris.
9. Position the lower Drain nut with gasket under the pre-drilled
hole of the terrarium and screw the Drain into the Drain nut from
the inside of the Terrarium (hand-tight) until you feel pressure
& resistance.
10. CAUTION Once you have confirmed that the drain, elbow
connector, and tap valve are installed and tightened correctly,
proceed with a leak test. Place the Pro Paludarium on a flat,
level surface and add 1 to 2 inches (2.5 to 5 cm) of water to
perform an initial test of the fittings.
After 1–2 hours, if no leaks are detected, gradually fill the
tank to the desired water level. If the setup remains leak-free
after 24 hours, you can continue with the full installation of
your Pro Paludarium.
PRACTICAL USER GUIDE
1. INTEGRATED DOOR LOCK: Your terrarium features a built-in
locking system to prevent accidental door openings and to keep
your animals secure.
To unlock the door (s), press the locking button on the front of
the top frame. The button on the top of the frame will pop up to
unlock the doors.
To lock the door (s), press the locking button on the top of the
frame downward.
2. DOOR PUSH-LATCH: The front-opening door(s) use a smooth,
spring-loaded push latch system.
To open: gently press the door at latch level — it will pop open
slightly. Open further by hand.
To close: push the door shut until it clicks into place, then press
the locking button down to secure.
3. SCREEN TOP LOCKING MECHANISM:The top screen is
secured using a patented in-frame locking system. Ensure
the lid is correctly seated in the frame’s anchor points, and all
locking knobs are fully turned to secure it. Important: If the lid
is not properly inserted and locked, it may become dislodged,
especially with stronger animals.
4. SELF-CLOSING INLETS:
At the rear of the top frame, multiple self-closing inlets allow
safe routing of cables or tubing.
1. Rotate the interior locking knobs to open the lid.
2. Feed your cable or tubing through an inlet.
3. Reseat the lid in the frame’s anchor points, and turn all knobs
fully to lock.
5. TUBING CHANNELS
Tubing channels and nozzle slots in the upper frame are desig-
ned for use with systems like the Monsoon.
1. Click the nozzle(s) into place and guide tubing through the
channels to the rear inlet.
2. Open the top screen as described above, Feed the tubing
through an inlet.
3. Reseat the lid in the frame’s anchor points, and turn all knobs
fully to lock.
6. ADJUSTABLE VENTILATION SYSTEM:
Control airflow with the adjustable three-position ventilation
strip:
1. To open, gently pull the ventilation strip using both hands,
each placed near the ends of the strip. Do not pull from the
center, as this may cause the strip to detach.
2. First click = minimal ventilation.
3. Second click = maximum ventilation.
4. To close, press the strip fully back against the base = no
ventilation.
5. If the strip detaches, simply reinsert it into the base and
adjust to the desired position.
7. INTEGRATED DIRT COLLECTOR:
A built-in dirt collector keeps debris from escaping through the
vents.
To clean: remove the ventilation strip, clean the dirt collector
using a vacuum or damp cloth, then reinsert the strip and set it
to the desired ventilation position.
8. PADLOCK COMPATIBILITY:
For added safety and security, especially in households with
children, in retail environments, or when housing sensitive
species, the Pro Terrarium is designed to accommodate a small
padlock (not included).
Single Door:When the door is fully closed, a padlock can be
inserted through the integrated holes in the door frame and
ventilation bar to prevent unauthorized access and ensure the
door remains securely locked.
Dual Doors: When both doors are fully closed, a padlock can
be inserted through the integrated holes in the door frames
to prevent unauthorized access and ensure the doors remain
securely locked.
9. PROCLIP™ SECURITY SET
For added peace of mind when housing stronger, more active, or
escape-prone species, we recommend using the ProClip™ Se-
curity Set. These custom-designed reinforcement clips are made
specifically for the Pro Terrarium and Pro Paludarium models
and provide an extra layer of lid security without compromising
the sleek design of the enclosure.
Key Features:
• Designed to reinforce the screen lid in high-stress situations.
• Ideal for species known to exert upward pressure or test
enclosure boundaries.
• Easy to install and remove as needed—no permanent
modification required.
• Maintains the clean, aesthetic look of your terrarium.
Installation:
1. Ensure the screen lid is properly seated and locked into the
frame using the integrated locking knobs.
2. Attach the ProClip™ reinforcement clips onto the designated
edges of the screen frame as instructed in the clip’s packaging.
3. Confirm that both clips are securely fastened before introdu-
cing your animal.
Important:
The ProClip™ Security Set is not a substitute for correct
enclosure selection. Always ensure the terrarium is appropriate
for the size, strength, and temperament of the species being
housed.

FR : CONSIGNES D’UTILISATION

Paludarium.
