NetPA 204 POE • Setup Guide
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Go to www.extron.com for the complete NetPA 204 POE user guide, and specications before
connecting the product to the power source.
This guide provides quick start instructions for an experienced installer to set up and operate the Extron NetPA 204 POE network
power amplier. The Dante-enabled amplier receives up to four channels of audio via its AT (PoE++) port and drives up to
20 watts per channel into 8Ω or 4Ω speaker loads. The amplier is powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE).
Installation
Step 1 — Mounting
Turn o󰀨 or disconnect all equipment power sources and mount the unit as required with either the included MBU 123 Low-Prole
Mount Kit or the optional ATB 100 Amplier Tile Bridge Ceiling Mount Kit (which can mount the amplier above ceiling tiles, out of
sight and near the speakers).

Step 3 — Powering the Amplier
Reconnect all the power cables and switch on the rest of the equipment before powering the power amplier. The front panel
Power LED (see gure 2,
1
) blinks green for up for up to 10 seconds as the amplier boots. There is a delay before the Power
LED starts blinking as PoE power is negotiated between your switch or power injector and the amplier.

NOTE: When the Dante controller sends an identify device request to the amplier, the Power LED blinks amber for 30
seconds. Once this sequence has completed, the LED will resume its previous indication. See Identifying a device on
page 4 for more details.
Once the boot-up sequence is complete, the amplier takes more time to sync with the Dante network, and begin the playback of
streamed content. The front panel Power LED (

Indications
2
LIMITER/PROTECT LEDs (see figure 2) — Indicate that an amplified output protection mode status as follows:
A protective condition such as DC protect or thermal limiting exists.
Digital clipping is occurring on the output channel.
3
SIGNAL LEDs — Lights when the output from a DSP channel, which goes to an amplier channel, crosses the signal
detection threshold (-59 dBFS) of the DSP.
4

802.3af (Power Class 3) PoE — Only the bottom LED is lit, 12.95 W available
Step 4 — DSP Congurator Pro Software Installation
There are no hardware controls for the NetPA 204 POE. Control is via either Extron DSP Congurator Pro software or SIS
commands. To learn about full computer requirements, see the DSP Congurator Pro product page on www.extron.com.
Download DSP Configurator Pro from the Extron Website
1. From the Extron home page (www.extron.com), hover over the Download tab to open the Download page.
2. Click Software (located on the left side of the page). The Search Software eld appears.
3. Enter DSP Congurator Pro in the Search Software eld. The DSP Congurator Pro Software product page opens.
4. Click the Download button and follow the on-screen instructions.
