Step 3.Check that All
Arms SpinFreely

Step 4.Select a Cycleand Options if Desired
Efficient dishwashersrunlonger tosavewater andenergy, justasdriving acarslower
saves ongas. Typical cycletime is approximately2
1/2hours,but cantake lessormore
timeto complete dependingon selections.
Youcan customizeyour cycles byselecting the optionsdesired. If youchange your mind,
select theoption againto turn offtheoption.Not all optionsareavailable forevery cycle. If
an invalidoptionisselected fora givencycle,the lightswillflash. Addingoptionsmay
increase thecycletime.

Step 5.Start orResumeaCycle
IMPORTANT: Ifanyoneopens thedoor(such asforadding adish,even duringtheDelay
Hoursoption),the Start/Resumebutton must beselected each time.
�If theStart/Resume button islocated ontop of door, pushthe door firmlyclosed within
4 secondsof selecting Start/Resume.If dooris not closedwithin 5 seconds,the
Start/Resume buttonLED will flash,an audible tonewill be heard,and cycle willnot
start.
NOTE: Runhot waterat the sinknearest your dishwasheruntil the wateris hot. Turn off
water.

PREPARE ANDLOADTHE DISHWASHER
IMPORTANT: Remove leftover food,bones, toothpicks, andother harditemsfrom dishes.
Remove labelsfromcontainersbefore washing.
�Makesure whenthedishwasher doorisclosed thatnoitems areblocking the
detergent dispenser.
�Items shouldbe loaded withsoiled surfaces facingdown and inwardtoward the
spray, asshownin thegraphicsabove. Thiswillimprovecleaninganddryingresults.
Angle dirtiestdish surfaces downward,allowing space forwater to flowup through
rackand betweendishes.
�Avoid overlappingitemslike bowlsorplates thatmaytrap food.
�Placeplastics, smallplates,and glassesinmiddle rack.
�Wash onlyitems marked“dishwashersafe.”
�To avoidthumping/clattering noises during operation,load dishesso they donot
touch oneanother.Make surelightweight load itemsare securedin racks.
�Use slotsin the covers(if provided) andsuggested loading patternsto keepyour
silverwareseparated foroptimumwash.
�If yoursilverwaredoes notfit into thedesignated slots,lift and
slidecovers offto removethemand mixsilverwaretypes to
keepthem separated.
�Whenloading silverware,alwaysplace sharpitemspointing
downand avoid“nesting”,as shown.

Premeasured Detergents
High-qualitypremeasured tabletsandpacks arerecommended forimproved
performance.
Quality tabletsandpacks havebeenproven betterthanpowder,liquid, orgel
detergentsat reducing filmingon dishes. Usingtablets and packsover time will
startto reduce oreliminate white film.They are suitablefor all waterhardness and
soillevels. Also,byusing arinse aid,youcan minimizerepeatbuildup ofwhite
film(not all packsand tablets containrinse aid). Alwaysplace premeasured
detergentsin main compartmentand close lid.
NOTE: Follow instructions onthe package whenusing other dishwasherdetergent types. Seethe complete Owner’s
Manual formore detailsabout powders, liquids,andgels.
�Use automaticdishwasher detergent only. Add detergentjust before startinga cycle.
�Fresh automaticdishwasher detergent resultsin bettercleaning. Store tightly closeddetergent containerin a cool,
dry place.
FILTRATION SYSTEM
IMPORTANT: Toavoid damage todishwasher, do notoperate your
dishwasherwithout filtersproperly installed.Besure lowerfilteris securely
inplace and upper filterassembly islocked into place.If upper assembly
turnsfreely, it isnot lockedinto place.

Your dishwasherhas thelatesttechnology indishwasherfiltration. This
filtration systemminimizes sound andoptimizes waterand superior
cleaning.The filter systemconsists of twoparts: anupperfilter assembly
and lowerfilter.
ADD RINSEAID
�Yourdishwasher is designedto use rinseaid forgood drying performance.Without rinse aid,your dishes and
dishwasher interiorwill have excessivemoisture. The heateddrying optionwill not perform aswell withoutrinse aid.
�Rinse aidkeeps water fromforming dropletsthat can dryas spots orstreaks. It alsoimproves drying byallowing
waterto drainoff dishesafterfinal rinse.Rinseaid doesnotadhere todishwareand, whenused, itisdispensed
duringeach cycle.
�Check therinse aid indicatorwith the doordown (varies bymodel).
�Once rinseaid has beenadded, the controlpanel will lightwhen the
dispenseris low.
�To add rinseaid to slidinglid-style dispenser, openthe rinse dispenserlid
by gentlypushing in thecenter ofthe lid with yourthumb andpulling up
on theedge. Pourrinse aid into theopening untilthe dispenser isfull.
Then, closethe dispenser bypushing down gentlyon thelid.
Ifyou areexperiencing poordryingperformance, youmaywant totrya highersetting.
NOTE: For most waterconditions, the factorysetting will givegood results.

FOLLOWTHE PROGRESSOF YOURDISHWASHER
TheClean indicatorglows whenacycleis finished.
RECOMMENDED DETERGENT
The UnitedStates andCanada have passeda restriction limitingthe amount ofphosphorus (phosphates) inhousehold
dishwasherdetergents.Majormanufacturershavereformulatedtheir dishwasherdetergentfor thischangein detergents
asanother step in eco-consciousawareness. Withthese recent changes,it is recommendedto use tabletsand packs for
convenienceand improvedperformance.
WATER HARDNESSANDSALT RESERVOIR
The dishwasheris equipped witha watersoftener.However, the settingis defaulted toOFF. No actionsare needed ifnot
being used.If itis desired, referto the Owner’s Manualfor instructions onhow to activatethe water softener.
NOTE: Not all cycles,settings or optionsare available withall models.
