ank you for purchasing the MXL FR-355K lavalier microphone kit. With proper care, this micro-
phone will provide many years of satisfaction. For best results, please take a few moments to review

General Characteristics
e microphones in the FR-355K kit were designed with high quality FET pre-amps to ensure
outstanding audio quality under even the most demanding conditions. e FR-355K lavalier micro-
phones require 48v phantom power to operate. Phantom power is available from most professional
video cameras and mixers.
e FR-355K kit contains 2 dierent microphones. A cardoid mic, and an omni mic. e cardoid
mic has a 8mm capsule and the omni mic a 6mm capsule. ey are both supplied with foam wind-
screens and clips.
Experimentation with both positioning and selection of the most suitable microphone for any given
application is recommended, as both can have a pronounced eect upon the quality of recordings.
If for any reason you get no sound from your FR-355K microphone, please check that phantom
power is being correctly supplied.
Microphone Cables
e microphone cable can have a profound eect on the sound of any microphone. Even the nest
microphones will sound poor if the interconnect cable allows noise to enter, or causes distortion and
loss of information. Use only the best microphone cable your budget will allow. We recommend us-
ing Mogami® brand cable.
Care
Dust and foreign material can degrade the performance of a microphone over time so always store
the unit in a warm dry place. Remove ngerprints from the exterior with a clean dry soft cloth.
Warranty
Marshall microphones are guaranteed against defects in material and workmanship for ONE year from date of pur-
chase. Should you encounter any problem with this unit, promptly contact the company you purchased it from for
assistance. e original dated sales receipt will be necessary for any warranty claim. Do not send any unit directly
to us without prior authorization from our service department! Warranty coverage is limited to repair or replace-
ment (at our option) of the microphone, and does not cover incidental damages due to use of this unit, nor damage
caused by accidental misuse of this product.
