Preset cooking mode (Fig. 3)
1 Add ingredients to the blender jar.
2 Assemble the exhaust lid and blender lid.
3 Fix the blender jar to the motor base.
4 Plug in the appliance.
»You will hear a beep and the appliance is ready to use.
5 Press preset program button to toggle through preset
programs.
» When a preset program is selected, the LED of this
program will light up.
6 Press start/cancel button to start cooking.
» The blender starts processing.
» To stop processing, press the start/cancel button
again.
» When cooking is completed, you will hear a few
beeps. “End” is shown on the LED display.

1 Important
Read this important information carefully before you use the
appliance and save it for future reference.
Warning
• Do not misuse the appliance to avoid potential injury.
• This appliance is intended to be used in household only.
• Do not touch the sharp blades when the appliance is plugged
in. If the blades get stuck, unplug the appliance before you
remove the ingredients. Be careful when handling the sharp
cutting blades, emptying the bowl and during cleaning.
• Switch o and unplug the appliance from the power supply
before:
• Removing it from the stand, changing accessories or
approaching parts that move in use.
• Assembling, disassembling or cleaning it.
• It is left unattended.
• Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
• Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds
to the local mains voltage before you connect the appliance.
• Do not use the appliance if the plug, the mains cord, housing,
lid or blender jar are damaged or has visible cracks. If the
mains cord is damaged, you must have it replaced by Philips,
a service centre authorised by Philips or similarly qualied
persons in order to avoid a hazard.
• Make sure the lid is properly assembled to the blender jar
before you use the appliance.
• This appliance shall not be used by children. Keep the
appliance and its cord out of reach of children.
• Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they
understand the hazards involved.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the appliance.
• In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the
thermal cut-out, this appliance must not be supplied through
an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to
a circuit that is regularly switched on and o by the utility.
• Be careful if hot liquid is poured into the blender jar as it can
be ejected out of the appliance due to a sudden steaming.
• Never assemble or disassemble the blender jar to the motor
base while the power is on.
• Read the cleaning procedure from “User Manual” before use.
• Be careful that the heating element surface is subject to
residual heat after use.
Caution
• Never use any accessories or parts from other manufacturers
or that Philips does not specically recommend. If you use
such accessories or parts, your guarantee becomes invalid.
Only connect the appliance to an earthed wall socket.
• Do not exceed the maximum indication on the blender jar.
• Do not exceed the maximum quantities and processing times
indicated in the relevant table.
• If food sticks to the wall of the blender jar, switch o the
appliance and unplug it. Then use a spatula to remove the
food from the wall.
• Never ll the blender jar with ingredients hotter than ambient
temperature. Avoid to pour cold water into the blade unit and
blender jar immediately after use. Wait until it has been fully
cooled.
• The appliance can only be switched on if the blender jar is
assembled on the motor base correctly.
• Do not touch the heating element and blade after use.
Let it cool down for approx. 30 minutes before cleaning or
disassembly.

Caution
• Let the appliance cool down to room temperature before use.
• Clean up the blade unit and blender jar after use.
• Always make sure the lid is properly closed/assembled on the
jar in the lid before you switch on the appliance.
• This appliance is not suitable for use in some high-altitude
areas.
Blending
Warning
• Never reach into the blender jar with your ngers or an object
while the appliance is running.
• If the blade unit gets stuck, unplug the appliance before you
remove the ingredients that block the blades.
Caution
• To prevent spillage, do not put liquid beyond the maximum
level in the blender jar, especially when you process at a high
speed. Do not put liquid beyond the maximum level in the
blender jar when you process hot liquids or ingredients that
tend to foam.
• Do not let the appliance run for more than 3 minutes at a
time. Let the appliance cool down to room temperature
before you continue processing.
• Always make sure the lid is properly closed/assembled on
the jar and the exhaust lid is assembled properly before you
switch on the appliance.
Built-in safety lock
This feature ensures that you can only switch on the appliance
if the blender jar is assembled on the motor base properly. If the
blender jar is correctly assembled, the built-in safety lock will be
unlocked.
Safety Feature
This blender is tted with a safety feature which safeguards
against excessive loads. In case of overloading, the blender
automatically activates the protection and operation will stop. If
this occurs, unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down for
15 minutes. Remove the ingredients and clear up the blender jar
before starting operation.
Boil-dry protection
This appliance is equipped with boil-dry protection:
It switches o automatically if you accidentally switch it on with
no or not enough liquid in it. Let the appliance cool down for 15
minutes and unplug it. The appliance is ready for use again.
Electromagnetic elds (EMF)
This Philips appliance complies with all applicable standards and
regulations regarding exposure to electromagnetic elds.
Recycling
Do not throw away the product with the normal household
waste at the end of its life, but hand it in at an ocial
collection point for recycling. By doing this, you help to
preserve the environment.
Follow your country’s rules for the separate collection of
electrical and electronic products. Correct disposal helps
prevent negative consequences for the environment and
human health.
