This guide provides instructions on how to configure and install the DLT-V4 tape
drive in the following configurations:
•Internal Tape Drive — SCSI, SATA, and USB versions
•Tabletop Tape Drive — SCSI and USB/eSATA versions

1Inspect the shipping box and contents of the box for damage. If you find any
damage, report it to the shipping company.
2Select a server or workstation to host the tape drive.
3Download the device driver from the following Web site:
http://www.quantum.com/ServiceandSupport/
SoftwareandDocumentationDownloads/DLTV4/Index.aspx.
4Shut down and power off the host and all peripheral devices attached to the
selected host.
5SCSI Tape Drives Only — If necessary, change the SCSI ID using the SCSI
jumpers (see figure 1). (For complete instructions, see the DLT-V4 Product
Manual.)
NOTE:See the last page of this document for additional resources.
NOTE:Save the packing materials in case you need to move or ship the
tape drive. You must ship the tape drive in the original or equivalent
packing materials to preserve your warranty.
