► Системы вахт/смен Российского
флота (1)
Традиционно несение службы на Русском
флоте осуществляют 2 команды по 4 часа
вахта/смена. Красные и серые отметки
делят циферблат по периметру на 6
четвертей, чтобы члены экипажа могли
следить за своими вахтами/сменами.
► Russian watch/shift system (1)
The crew on Russian ships & submarines is
traditionally divided into 2 teams working in
4-hour watches/shifts. The red & grey lines that
divide the perimeter of the dial into 6 quarters,
allow the crew to keep count of their watches/-
shifts.
► Солнечный компас (2)
Все часы на 24 часа можно использовать как
солнечный компас. Для этого просто
направьте часовую стрелку на солнце:
цифра “0” на циферблате будет указывать
на Север, “12” - на Юг, “6” - на Восток,“18” -
на Запад.
Если Вы находитесь в стране, которая
перешла на летнее время (т.е., +1 час от
стандартного времени), Вы должны
представить, что все основные метки
сдвинуты “назад” на 1 час.
Пример: Юг будет на “11” вместо “12”.
Если Вы находитесь в Южном полушарии,
стороны света поменяются;
Пример: Юг, вместо Севера будет на “0”
вместо “12”.
► Solar Compass (2)
All 24 hour watches can be used as a solar
compass. To do so, simply point the hour hand
towards the sun: the “0” on the dial will then be
pointing towards the North, “12” towards the
South, “6” towards the East and “18” towards
the West.
If you are in a country which switched to
daylight saving time (i.e. +1 hour from standard
time during summer months), you have to
imagine that all the cardinal marks are move
“backwards” by 1 hour.
ex: the South will be at “11” instead of “12”.
If you are in the Southern hemisphere, please
invert all the cardinal marks;
ex: South will be at “0” instead of “12”.
