carefully.Learnhowtostoptheenginequicklyinany
emergency.
• Do not allow children or people unfamiliar with these
instructionstousethemower.Donotcarrypassengers.
Makesurethelawnisclearofsticks,stones,bones,wire
anddebris.Theycouldbethrownbytheblade.
• Donotmowwhilstpeople,especiallychildren,orpets
areinthemowingarea.
• Nevermowacrossthefaceofaslope,unlessthemower
isdesignedforthispurpose.Exerciseextremecaution
whenonslopes.Reducespeedonslopesandonsharp
turnstopreventoverturningorlossofcontrol.
• Do not stop or start suddenly when going uphill or
downhill.
• Stay alert for holes in theterrain and other hidden
hazards.
• Usecarewhenpullingloadsorusingheavyequipmenta)
useonlyapproveddrawbarhitchpoints

• Watchoutfortrafcwhencrossingoroperatingthemower

• Stopthe bladesrotating before crossing surfaces other
thangrass.
• Whenusinganyattachments,neverdirectdischargeof
material toward bystanders nor allow anyone near the
machinewhileitisinoperation.
• Beforeleavingtheoperator’sposition:
a)disengageallclutchesandsecurecuttingunits
b)settheparkingbrake,and
c) stoptheengineandremovethekey.
• Stoptheengineanddisengagedrivetoattachments
a) beforerefuelling
b) beforemakingheightadjustmentunlessadjustment
canbemadefromtheoperator’sposition
c) beforeclearingblockages
d) beforechecking,cleaningorworkingonthemower
e) afterstrikingaforeignobject(inspectthemowerfor
damageandmakerepairsbeforerestartingand
operatingtheequipment)and
f) ifmachinestartstovibrateabnormally(check
immediately).
• Disengagedrivetoattachmentswhentransportingornot
inuse.
• Amoweroperatorshouldbeingoodphysicalandmental
healthandnotundertheinuenceofanydrugoralcohol
whichmightimpairvision,co‑ordinationorjudgement.
• It is advisable to wear suitable eye protection when
operating a mower.
ThisproductismanufacturedtocomplywithAustralianSafetyStandards.Ifnon‑genuinereplacementparts;
includingblades;arettedtothisproductitmaynolongermeetthatAustralianSafetyStandardandRover
MowersWarranty.Thettingofnon‑genuinereplacementpartscould
resultinaseriousinjury,and,ormachine
malfunctioningwhichmayresultinlitigationagainstthepersonorpersonsresponsibleforthealterations.
• Nevermowwhilebarefootorwearingopensandals,or
thongs.Wearlongtrousersandheavyshoes.
• Mowonlyingooddaylight.
• Before using, always visually inspect to see that
blades,bladeboltsandcutterassemblyarenotwornor
damaged.
• Replace worn or damaged blades and bolts in sets to
preservebalance.
DAMAGED BLADES AND WORN BOLTS
ARE MAJOR HAZARDS
• Checkallnuts,boltsandscrewsoften,alwaysbesurethe
mowerisinsafeoperatingcondition.
• Keepsafetydevices(guardsandswitches)inplaceand
in working order.
• Neverusethemowerunlessthegrasscatcher,orguards
providedbythemanufacturer,areinposition.
• Ensure any spareparts used comply with the original
manufacturer’srecommendationsandspecications.
• Replacewornorfaultysilencer.
• Keep enginefree of grass, leaves orexcessivegrease.
Thesecanbearehazard.
• Refueloutdoorsonly.Donotsmokewhilefuellingengine.
Neverremovethecapofthefueltankoraddpetrolwhile
theengineisrunningortheengineishot.Removefuel
capslowlytorelieveanytankpressure.Ifpetrolisspilled,
donotattempttostarttheenginebutmovemachineaway
fromtheareaofthespillandavoidcreatinganysourceof
ignitionuntilpetrolvapourshavedissipated.
• Checkforfuelleakswhilerefuellingorusingthemower.
Ifafuelleakisfound,donotstartorruntheengineuntil
thefuelleakisxedandspilledfueliswipedaway.
• Donotoperatetheengineinaconnedspacewhere
exhaustfumes(carbonmonoxide)cancollect.
• Alwaysmountthemowerontheoppositesidetothe
dischargechute.
• Start the engine carefully with the cutterhead
disengaged.
• Donotover‑speedtheengineoraltergovernorsettings.
Excessivespeedisdangerousandshortensmowerlife.
• Stoptheengineandremovethekeyswheneveryouleave
themower,evenforamoment.
• Storethe mower ina well‑ventilated room awayfrom
nakedamessuchasmaybefoundinhotwaterheaters.
• Do not lend or sell the mower without the Owner’s
Manual.
