Replacing the Spool + Clearing Jams and Tangled Lines

mWARNING! Remove the battery from the unit before changing the trimmer line.

1. Press together both release tabs on the line spool cover and remove the cover by pulling it straight o (Fig. 1).

2. Lift and remove the spool out of the hub (Fig. 2) and clean out any dirt or grass residue.

3. In case of jams or tangled line, unwrap about 6 in. (15 cm) of line to ensure that it’s not damaged.

4. If it appears undamaged, rewind it and hook the line end through one set of the notches at the top of the spool.

This will temporarily prevent the spool from unwinding.

5. To replace the spool, unhook the line from the notch and carefully reinsert through the slot on the side of the hub

and gently press the spool down (Fig. 3).

6. Reinstall the spool cover by depressing the release tabs into their slots in the hub, and push down until the

spool cover clicks into place (Fig. 4).
