iW 62 BACKCAN
Pre-Install backcan for iW 62DS-WH and iW 62S-WH In-Wall Loudspeakers
IN WALL INSTALLATION
(1) Using screws that are at least ¾ " long, a x backcan to studs or joists. Tannoy recommends a
minimum of 8 screws.
(2) Run appropriate gauge and type of wire for your particular installation to the backcan location.
½ " or ¾ " conduit is also an option.
(3) Install a suitable connector for wire chosen into the ½ " or ¾ " knock out. Run wire through connector,
leaving enough length to reach the loudspeaker with excess for ease of connection.
(4) Leave excess wire in the backcan until drywall or desired nishing is complete.
(5) The ange on the front of the backcan will protrude through the drywall and act as a guide for
drywall installation.
(6) After desired nishing is complete, connect the previous installed wire in the backcan to the red (+)
and black (-) terminals on the chosen loudspeaker model. An optional ground wire may be used to
reduce RF interference.
(7) Follow installation instructions found in the loudspeaker quick start guide for nal speaker installation.
