CAUTION: Metra recommends disconnecting the
negative battery terminal before beginning any
installation. All accessories, switches, and especially
air bag indicator lights must be plugged in before
reconnecting the battery or cycling the ignition.
NOTE: Refer to the instructions included with the
aftermarket radio.

From the 14-pin harness to the aftermarket radio:
• Tape off and disregard the wire, it will not be used in this application. Red
• Connect the wire to the amp turn on wire (this wire must be Blue/White
connected to hear sound from the factory amplifier).
• Tape off and disregard the wire, it will not be used in this application.Brown
• Connect the RCA to the left front output.White
• Connect the RCA to the right front output.Gray
• Connect the RCA to the left rear output.Green
• Connect the RCA to the right rear output.Purple
Note: If the radio does not have RCA outputs, or only one pair, use a line level
convertor (sold separately). Use Axxess part number AXLOC4-80A (4 channel) or
AXLOC-80A (2 channel) for best results.
The following wires are for aftermarket multimedia/navigation radios that provide
these wires (if not required, tape them off and disregard them):
• Connect the wire to the parking brake wire.Light Green
• Connect the wire to the speed sense/VSS wire.Blue/Pink
• Connect the wire to the reverse wire. Green/Purple
Reverse wire is not available on manual transmission vehicles.Note:
To retain these wires, please follow the steps under: From the 2-pin Note:

• Plug the 14-pin harness into the AXTO-MI1.
From the AXTO-MI1 harness:
(a) to the vehicle:
• Connect the wire with a fork connector to chassis ground.Black
(b) to the aftermarket radio:
• Connect the wire to the ground wire.Black
• Connect the Yellow wire to the battery wire.
• Connect the wire to the accessory wire.Red
• Connect the wire to the power antenna turn-on wire.Blue
• Connect the wire to the Illumination wire (if the aftermarket radio has Orange
no Illumination wire, tape off the wire).Orange
• Connect the wire to the left front positive speaker output.White
• Connect the wire to the left front negative speaker output.White/Black
• Connect the wire to the right front positive speaker output.Gray
• Connect the wire to the right front negative speaker output. Gray/Black
• Connect the wire to the left rear positive speaker output.Green
• Connect the wire to the left rear negative speaker output.Green/Black
• Connect the wire to the right rear positive speaker output.Purple
• Connect the wire to the right rear negative speaker output.Purple/Black
• Connect the 20-pin harness into the AXTO-MI1.
• Connect the 16-pin and 22-pin harness into the vehicle.

From the 2-pin harness to the vehicle:
If the radio you are installing has navigation built in, the AXTO-MI1 can supply the
necessary navigation outputs with some additional wiring. Follow the steps below
to connect these wires to the vehicle:
• Locate the OBD2 connector which is located beneath the driver’s side
dash panel close to the center console and run the and Pink Blue/Pink
wires down to it.
• Connect the wire to pin-6 of the OBD2 connector.Pink
• Connect the wire to pin-14 of the OBD2 connector. Blue/Pink

• Initialize the interface by turning the ignition on for 30 seconds, then turn the
ignition back off, and on again.
• If the subwoofer, or front door woofers are too loud, or not loud enough, you can
adjust the output by following the steps below:
1) Locate the end of the AXTO-MI1 with the 14-pin harness with stripped leads
and RCA jacks.
2) Using a small flat-blade screwdriver, turn the gain knob clockwise to make it
louder, or counterclockwise to make it lower.
