Werecommend you have the electrical wiring and hookup ofyour range connected by a qualified
electrician.After installation, have the electrician show you how to disconnect power fromthe
range.
You must use a single-phase, 120/208 VAC or 120/240 VAC, 60 hertz electrical system. If you
connect to aluminumwiring, properly installed connectors approved for use with aluminum wiring
must be used.
Effective January1,1996,theNationalElectricalCoderequiresthatnewconstruction(not
existing) utilize a 4-conductor connection to an electric range.When installing an electric range
innew construction, mobilehome, recreationalvehicle, or anarea where local codes prohibit
grounding through the neutral conductor, refer to the section on four-conductor branch circuit
connections.
Check with your local utilities for electrical codes which apply in your area. Failure to wire your
oven according to governing codes could result in a hazardous condition. Ifthere areno local
codes, your oven must be wired and fused to meet the National Electrical Code,NFPANo.

This appliance mustbe supplied with the proper voltage andfrequency, and connected to an
individual, properlygrounded, 40amp(minimum)branchcircuitprotectedby acircuit breaker
or time-delay fuse.
Use only a 3-conductor or a4-conductor UL-listed range cord.These cords may be provided with
ring terminalson wire and a strain relief device.
Arange cord rated at 40 amps with 125/250 minimum volt range is required.A50 amp range
cord is not recommended but if used, it should be marked for use with nominal 1

Remove wire cover (on the back of range) by removing screws using a 1/4" nut driver.You
can access the terminal block by either removing a terminal block cover (on some models)
or the wire cover. Do not discard thesescrews.
For power cord and 1" conduit only,
remove
the knockout ring (13 ⁄") located on bracket8
directlybelowtheterminalblock. Toremove
the knockout, use a pair of pliers to bend the
knockoutring away fromthe bracketand
twist until ring isremoved.
For3/4"conduit installations only,purchase asqueezeconnectormatchingthe diameter
ofyourconduit andassemble it in the hole.Insert the conduitthrough the squeezeconnector
and tighten. Allow enough slacktoeasilyattach the wires to the terminalblock.NOTE: Do not
install the conduitwithout asqueeze connector. The squeeze connectorMUSTbe installed
before reinstallingtherearrange wiringcover.

3-WIRE INSTALLATION
WARNING: Theneutral or ground wire of thepowercordmust be connected
to theneutral terminallocatedinthecenteroftheterminalblock andthegroundstrapmust
connecttheneutral terminalto thegroundplate.Thepowerleadsmustbeconnectedtothe
lowerleft and the lowerright terminalsoftheterminalblock.
DO NOT removethegroundstrapconnection.
FOR POWER CORD INSTALLATION
A. Remove the 3lower terminalscrews fromthe terminalblock.
B. Insert the 3terminalscrews through each power cord terminalringandintothelower
terminals of the terminal block. Be certain that the center wire (white/neutral)
is connected to the center lower position ofthe terminal block.
C. Tighten screwssecurely intotheterminalblock.
FOR CONDUIT INSTALLATION
A. Loosen the3lower terminal screws on the terminal block. Strip wireto exposed tipabout5/8"long.
B. Insertthe center(white/neutral) wire tipthroughthebottom center terminal blockopening.
Oncertainmodels,thewirewill need to beinserted through thegroundstrap opening
andthenintothe bottomcenter blockopening. Insertthetwosidebarewire tipsinto
thelower left and thelower right terminalblock openings.
C. Tightenthescrewsuntilthe wireisfirmlysecured(35 to 50 inch-lbs.). Donotover-tighten
the screws.
NOTE:ALUMINUM WIRING:Aluminumbuildingwire may be used butitmustbe rated
for the correct amperage andvoltage.

andsecure itin placewiththe ground screw(removedearlier).Insert the bare wire (white/neutral)tip
throughthe bottom center ofthe terminalblockopening.Insertthe two sidebare wire tips intothelower
leftand thelower rightterminal blockopenings.
C. Tightenthe screwsuntilthewire isfirmly secured(35to 50inch-lbs.). Donotover-tightenthescrews.

ANTI-TIP DEVICEINSTALLATION
Toreduce the riskoftippingthe range, the range must
be secured by aproperly installed anti-tipbracket. See
installation instructionsshipped with the bracket for
complete detailsbefore attemptingtoinstall.
To check ifthe bracket is installed and engaged properly,
remove the storage drawer orkick panel andlook
underneaththe range to see thatthe leveling leg is
engaged in the bracket. On models without a storage
drawer orkickpanel, carefully tipthe range forward.
Thebracket should stop the range within 4 inches. If it
does not, the bracket mustbe reinstalled. Ifthe range
ispulled fromthe wallforanyreason, alwaysrepeatthis
procedure to verify the range is properly secured by the anti-tipbracket. Never completely remove
the leveling legs or the range willnot be secured tothe anti-tip device properly.

Plug in unit and slide into place. Pull drawer out untilit stops.
Liftfrontofdrawer untilthe stopsclear the guide. Remove the drawer.
Installthe ovenshelvesin the oven andpositionthe range where
it will beinstalled.
Check for levelness by placing a spiritlevel on one of theoven
shelves. Taketworeadings—withthelevel placed diagonallyfirst
inone direction andthen theother.
Thefront leveling legscan be adjusted from the bottom
andtherearlegs canbeadjusted fromthetop orthe bottom.
Useanadjustablewrench to adjust theleveling legs until
the rangeislevel.

FINALINSTALLATION CHECKLIST
•Check tomake sure the circuitbreaker isclosed (RESET) or the circuitfusesare replaced.
•Be sure power isinservice to the building.
•Check that all packing materials and tape have been removed.This will include tape on metal panel
under controlknobs(ifapplicable), adhesive tape, wire ties, cardboardandprotective plastic. Failure
to remove thesematerials could result in damage to the appliance once theappliance has been
turned on and surfaces have heated.
•Check that the doorand drawer are parallel toeach other and thatboth operate smoothly. If they
donot,seethe Owner’sManualforproperreplacement.
•Check to make sure that the rear leveling leg is fully inserted into theAnti-Tip bracket and that the
bracket issecurely installed.
OPERATION CHECKLIST
•Turn onone ofthe surface unitstoobserve thatthe elementglowswithin60seconds. Turnthe unit
offwhen glow isdetected. Ifthe glow isnotdetected withinthe time limit, recheckthe range wiring
connections. Ifchange isrequired, retest again. Ifnochangeisrequired, have buildingwiringchecked
for proper connections andvoltage.
•Check that the Clock (on models so equipped) display is energized.If a series of horizontal red
linesappear in the display, disconnect power immediately. Rechecktherange wiringconnections.
If change ismade toconnections, retestagain. Ifnochange isrequired, have buildingwiringchecked
for proper connectionsandvoltage. It isrecommended that the clockbe changed ifthe redlines
appear.
•Be sure all range controlsare inthe OFF positionbefore leavingthe range.

Position cord so that it does not interfere with drawer.
Placedrawer rail on guides. Push the drawer in until it stops.
Lift front of drawer and push inuntilthe stopsclear
the guides.
Lower the front ofthe drawer and push in until it closes.
MODELS WITH BAKING,WARMING DRAWERS OR DOUBLEOVEN
Plug in the unit.
Measure the height ofyour countertop at the rear ofthe opening(X).
Adjust two rear leveling legs sothat the rear of cooktop is at the same
heightasthe counter (Y).
Slide unitintoplace.
Installoven shelves inthe oven and position the range where it willbe installed.
Check for levelness by placing a spiritlevel on one of theoven shelves.
Take two readings—with thelevel placed diagonally first in one direction
and thentheother.
Adjustfrontlevelinglegs untilthe rangeislevel.
