forward to serving you in the future. As with all Goodway products, you can be assured that
the î™–nest quality components and workmanship have gone into this machine.
Please take a few minutes to read the following Operaîš¹ng and Maintenance Instrucîš¹ons. By
carefully following the instrucîš¹ons, you will obtain years of trouble free service from this

GENERAL
The DV-2-MET / DV- -MET is an industrial grade vacuum cleaner for the recovery of dry chips AV
and coolant. Its collecîš¹on tank is easily detached from the rest of the unit making disposal of
collected material easy.
The unit consists of the following components:
 Vacuum head/motor assembly with cord and on/o switches (DV-2-MET Model) or
Vacuum head with pneumaîš¹c hose connecîš¹on and valve (DV- -MET Model). AV
ï‚· Filter canister with nylon î™–lter on dolly.
ï‚· Debris collecîš¹on tank with chip collecîš¹on basket.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTION
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS VACUUM CLEANER
WARNING To reduce the risk of re, electric shock or injury: –
ï‚· Do not leave appliance when plugged in. Disconnect unit from power when not in use or
before servicing.
WARNING To reduce the risk of electric shock Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces. – –
 Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommend accessories and
spare parts.
 Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close aenon is necessary when used by or near
children.
ï‚· Do not use with a damaged cord, plug or air hose. If unit is not working as it should, has
been dropped, damaged, leî™´ outdoors, or dropped into water, contact Goodway
Technologies Corporaon’s Customer Service at (800) 370-2855.
ï‚· Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around
sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated
surfaces.
ï‚· Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
ï‚· Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
ï‚· Do not put any objects into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of
dust, lint, hair and anything that may reduce airow.

ï‚· Keep hair, loose clothing, î™—ngers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving
parts.
ï‚· Turn oî™” all controls before unplugging.
ï‚· Use extra careful when cleaning stairs.
 Do not use to pick up ammable or combusble liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas
where they may be present.
 Connect to a properly grounded outlet only. See grounding instrucons.
ï‚· Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigareî›…es, matches, or hot
ashes.
ï‚· Do not use without dust bag and/or î™—lters in place.

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
For Electric Powered Vacuums:
This vacuum must be grounded. If it should malfuncon or break down, grounding provides a
path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This appliance is
equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and grounding plug. The plug
must be inserted into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in
accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
WARNING Improper connecon of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of –
electric shock. Check with a qualiî™—ed electrician or service person if you are in doubt as to
whether the outlet is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug provided with the appliance –
if it will not î™—t the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualiî™—ed electrician.
This appliance is for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit and has a grounding aî›…achment plug that
looks like the plug illustrated in sketch A below. A temporary adaptor that looks like the
adaptor illustrated in sketches B and C may be used to connect this plug to a two pole
receptacle as shown in sketch B if a properly grounded outlet is not available. The temporary
adaptor should be used only unl a properly grounded outlet (sketch A) can be installed by a
qualiî™—ed electrician. The green colored rigid ear, lug or the like extending from the adaptor
must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box cover.
Whenever the adaptor is used, it must be held in place by a metal screw.
NOTE: In Canada, the use of an adaptor is not permiî›…ed by the Canadian Electrical Code.
For Pneumaîšµc Powered Vacuums:
Stac electricity can be generated when using air operated equipment. If the equipment and
accessories are not properly grounded, arcing can occur as stac electricity is dissipated. If
ungrounded equipment is operated near explosive materials or vapors, î™—re or explosion may
result.
FOR MAXIMUM SAFETY, GROUNDED AIR LINES AND VACUUM HOSES MUST BE
USED WITH THIS EQUIPMENT. CONSULT THE GOODWAY CATALOG FOR
GROUNDED VACUUM HOSES AND ACCESSORIES.
Alternately a grounding wire can be connected to the pipe near the connecon for the air hose.
