Thank you for purchasing a PCE-TB system scale from PCE Instruments. The system scale is an aordable
multifunctional scale that can be integrated into a wide variety of systems thanks to its interfaces and
range of functions. This makes the system scale particularly interesting for schools, universities, and other
educational institutions.
The system scale comes standard with a bidirectional RS-232 and USB interface.
However, the system scale can also be equipped with a 4-20 mA, 0-10 V, I/O switch output, LAN, WI-FI,
or RS-485 output as an option. In addition, the system scale has a product data memory for up to 300
products and up to 10 users. This enables the system scale to process product-related characteristics
quickly and easily with the aid of a scanner. The data memory is loaded with a CSV le, which makes data
maintenance incredibly easy. If a product code is not available in the data memory, it is also possible
to process the data on a product-specic basis, as the barcode of the product can be transferred to the
interfaces together with the weight. We also oer an optional USB memory stick option so that the
data can be documented independently of a PC. The data memory function is particularly interesting
in conjunction with the I/O switch output. The I/O switch output operates according to the weight limits
stored in the checkweigher in advance. This enables the operator to carry out the target and actual weights
as well as the specied selection (too light, too heavy). Other interesting functions of the system scale
include: piece counting, percentage weighing, animal weighing function, tare value memory, PEAK hold
function (MAX), force measurement in N, summing function, weighing with MIN/OK/MAX limit values,
statistics function, area weight weighing g/m², print image conguration, printer languages Long and EPL.
Battery operation is possible, but it should be noted that, depending on the conguration of the system
scale, a battery power supply may no longer be suicient.
Please read this user manual carefully and completely before using the device for the rst time. The device
may only be used by carefully trained personnel.
» The device may only be used in approved temperature range.
» The opening of the case should only be done by qualied personnel of the PCE Instruments.
» The instrument should never be placed with the user interface (e.g. keyboard side on a table).
» You should not make technical changes on the device.
» The appliance should only be cleaned with a damp cloth / use only pH-neutral cleaner.
» The scales must not be used in inammable or explosive environments.
» PCE-TB scales may only be connected to properly installed sockets with a protective earth (PE) terminal
The protective eect must not be neutralized by an extension cable without a protective earth conductor
When the power supply comes from networks without a protective earth terminal, an expert must
provide equivalent protection in line with the valid installation regulations.
» In case of damage, unplug the AC adaptor from the wall socket and contact our customer support.
» Do not operate the scales before they are is properly installed.
» Do not expose the scales to high air humidity.
» Do expose the scales to dust or corrosive liquids.
» Do not throw objects on the scales.
» The scales must not be loaded with more than 120 % of the max. load.
