Before connecting/

installing the amplifier

WARNING

!Slots andopeningsin thecabinetareprovided

forventilationtoensurereliableoperation of

the product, andto protectitfromoverheat-

ing. To preventfirehazard,theopenings

should never be blocked or covered with items

(suchas papers, floormat, cloths).

!Thisunitisforvehicleswitha12 Vbatteryand

negative grounding. Beforeinstalling inre-

creationalvehicles, trucks orbuses, check the

battery voltage.

!When installingthisunit,makesuretocon-

nectthe ground wire first.Ensure that the

ground wireisproperlyconnectedtometal

parts ofthecarsbody. The groundwireofthe’

one ofthisunit must beconnectedtothecar

separately withdifferentscrews. Ifthescrew

fortheground wireloosensorfalls out, it

could result in fire, generation of smoke or

malfunction.

!Be sureto installthe fuse to the battery wire.

!Alwaysuse a fuse of the rating prescribed.

The use ofan improperfusecouldresult in

overheating and smoke, damage to the pro-

ductandinjury, includingburns.

!Check theconnections ofthepowersupply

and speakers ifthe fuseofthe separately sold

battery wire or the amplifierfuse blows.Deter-

mineand resolve the cause,thenreplace the

fuse with andidenticalequivalent.

!Always installtheamplifieronaflatsurface.

Donot install the amplifier on a surface that

isnot flatoronasurfacewithaprotrusion.

Doing so couldresultinmalfunction.

!When installingtheamplifier, donotallow

parts such as extra screws to get caught be-

tween theamplifierandtheautomobile.

Doing so couldcause malfunction.

!Donot allow this unit to come into contact

with liquids.Electricalshockcouldresult.

Also, damagetothisunit,smoke,andover-

heating couldresult from contact with liquids.

The surfaces oftheamplifierandanyattached

speakers mayalsoheatupandcauseminor

burns.

!Inthe eventofanyabnormality, thepower

supply to theamplifieris cut off to prevent

equipment malfunction. Ifthisoccurs,switch

the systempoweroffandcheckthepower

supply andspeakerconnections. Ifyouareun-

able todetermine the cause,please contact

your dealer.

!Always disconnectthenegativeterminalof*

thebattery beforehand to avoid the riskof

electric shockorshortcircuitduring installa-

tion.

!Do not attempttodisassembleormodifythis

unit. Doingsomayresultinfire,electric

shock orothermalfunction.

!The graphicalsymbolplaced on the

product meansdirectcurrent.

About theprotectionfunction

This product has protection function.When this

product detectssomethingabnormal, thefollow-

ing functions willoperatetoprotect theproduct

and speakeroutput.

!Theindicatorwillturn redPOWER/PROTECT

and theamplifierwill shut down inthesitua-

tions outlinedbelow.

—If thetemperature inside the amplifier gets

too high.

—If a DCvoltageisappliedtothe speaker

output terminal.
