C.Batteryinstallation
C 1‐ PutBatteryinplace: Press the PUSH button on thebottomside
of outtheunit pull(1)and thebattery batterycover.Insert inthe
unit put cover(2)and battery ontothecabinet(3),thenpush down
andforceitforwardtofitfirmly(4).
C‐ 2 Take Battery out: Press the PUSH button on the bottom side of
the theunit pull(1)and out batterycover(2).Thentakeoutthe
batteryfromtheunit(3).

Forthe thefirsttimeusing BT‐Q818X,
pleasechargebatteryuntilit is fully
charged. theTake powercableand
connectittothepowerjack(mini
USBtype)andrechargethrough
travelchargerorcarcigarette
adaptor.Thiswill isbegintocharge the battery.Chargingtime 3 hour
typically.
‐When the Power LED is Red, battery power is low status. Please
recharge.
‐When the Power LED is Green, the battery is under charging mode.
‐When the Power LED is off, the battery is fully charged.

E 1‐ Activatethe Bluetooth function phoneinyourPDA/Smart or
PC
Beforeactivatingthe Bluetooth functioninyourPDA/PC,please
switchonBT‐Q818XReceiverforparingandcheck deviceifyour is
equippedwith Bluetooth function.Ifnot,youmayneedtoacquirean
optionalCF/SD Bluetooth cardor Bluetooth dongle.

E 2‐ Automaticallycreate a shortcutin Bluetooth Managerwindow
Afterthe thepairingcomplete, systemwillthenfind a quickconnect
device“QstarzGPS”in Bluetooth Manager.Infurtheruse,you just
needtoclick it to connect to this Bluetooth GPS Receiver.
E 3‐ ChecktheSerialPortin Bluetooth Setting
AftercompletepairingwiththeReceiver,pleaseclick“SerialPort”to
confirm port. usethe assigned COM Ifyou PDA/PC thetopair GPS
Receiver,pleasecheck “Outbound COMport”.
E 4‐ ActivateG‐MousefunctionviaUSBconnection
1. Install the USB Driver (Only support Microsoft Windows XP / Vista)
2. ‐ Connect BT Q818X with your PC
3. ‐Check the COM port no. your PC is assigned for BT Q818X
Goto<Start> \ <Settings> \ <PanelControl> \ <Performanceand
Maintenance>\ <System> and Select <Hardware> tab and then click
<Device &Manager>.Expandthe<Ports(COM LPT)>andcheck“GPS
USBSerialInterfaceDriver”toseewhich ‐ COM port is for BT Q818X.
E 5‐ SetcorrectSerialPortinyourmapsoftware
Activateyournavigationsoftwareandmakesure to selectthe
correct“SerialPort”.
NOTE1:Inthemap TomTom,softwaresuchas youmightneedto
changepreferenceandset“OtherBluetoothGPS”according
toPDA/phonemodel.Insomecase please consult map
softwarecompanyto thevary settingifyouhave onissue
positioning.
NOTE2:Theremightbespecificsettingrequirementpernavigation
software.SuchasTomtom,pleasedeleteotherGPSsettings
under andTomtomsoftware, keeponeonly.
E 6‐ SwitchofftheBluetoothfunction
SwitchoffGPSfunctioninyourPDA/Smartphone/PC,thenthe
Bluetooth connection will be disconnected automatically. Then put
BT‐Q818Xpower switch to “OFF” position.
