PANEL DESCRIPTIONS
Front Panel
1. POWER SWITCH: Obediently turns the MA 6 on and off every time you poke it with your
finger (or other suitable object). All six channels have delayed turn-on/ instant turn-off relays to
eliminate any switching transients.
2. THERMALOVERLOAD INDICATOR: This red LED will light up if the MA 6 becomes too
hot, indicatingthat power has been removed from all six channels, while the fan continues to
cool the heatsink assembly. Be sure to check the fan filter and actual speaker impedances if
this indicator lights up.
3. POWER INDICATOR: This yellow LED lights whenever the MA 6 power switch is turned
on.
4. SIGNAL PRESENT INDICATORS: Each of these green LEDs will light whenever the input
to the channel is -20 dBm or greater. These LEDs will assist you in identifying which channels
carry which-signal,. as well as being handy troubleshooting aids in the event of signal loss.
5. LIMIT INDICATORS: Each of these yellow LEDs will light whenever that particular
channel enters the limit mode. This means that the amplifier has turned down the input level
quickly and automaticallyto avoid clipping. See elsewhere for further explanation of the MA
6 limiters and how best to use them.
6. CLIP INDICATORS: Each of these red LEDs will light whenever that particular channel
reaches -3 dB before actual clipping.
