2. DeterminewheretheremoteUSBperipheralwillbelocated.

3. Ifyouareusingsurfacecabling,ensureyouhaveenoughCat5/6

unshieldedtwistedpair(UTP)cablingtoconnecttheLocal

ExtendertotheRemoteExtender’slocation,andthateachend

isterminatedwithaRJ45connector.Thecablingshouldnotgo

throughanynetworkingequipment(i.e.router,switch).Iftheactual

devicesarenotsetupyet,makesuretoleaveenoughexcesscable

slacktoaccommodateforchangesindeviceplacement.

Ifyouareusingpremisecabling,ensurethattheCat5/6unshielded

twistedpair(UTP)cablingbetweenthelocalExtenderandthe

RemoteExtenderhasbeenproperlyterminatedinawalloutlet/

panelineachlocationandthereisapatchcablelongenough

toconnecttheRemoteExtenderandtheLocalExtenderto

theirrespectiveoutlets.Thecablingshouldnotgothroughany

networkingequipment(i.e.router,switch).
