Discharging
Discharging removes thememory effect from thebatteries whichare
not fully discharged and result in adiminished charging capacity.
1. Connect theadaptor to apower point and theDC plug to thecharger.
2. Insert 1 to 4 batteries (R03, R6, R14 or R20) according to thepolarity
markings on thecharger. Pressthem securely against thebottom.
(9 V batteries (6F22) cannot be discharged).
3. Press thedischarge button on left side of thedisplay.
4. “DISCHARGE” is shown and theblue background lightis
illuminated as long as discharging is in progress.
5. Thebattery icons flash as long as discharging isin
progress for any of thebatteries.
6. Charging starts automatically when thebatteries are discharged.
USB connection
1. TheUSB connection can only be used when thebatteries
in charger are fully charged or if thecharge isempty.
2. TheUSB symbol will be lit when thecharger’s USB
connection is ready touse.
3. Connect theUSB device to be charged to theUSB
outlet on theback of thecharger.
Note: Powerconsumption cannot exceed 500 mA (5 V).
Disposal
Sort and recycle products where possible, instead of disposing
ofthem. Allelectronic products, batteries and packaging material
etc. should be sorted and processed according tolocal
environmental regulations.

Safety
• Only charge rechargeable NiMH/Ni-CD batteries;
sizes R03, R6, R14, R20 or 6F22 (9 V).
• NEVER try to recharge regular dry-cell batteries, alkaline batteries or non-
rechargeable batteries in thebattery charger.
• Never use ahigher charging current than that whichis recommended or
that is marked on thebattery.
• Always charge rechargeable batteries before using them for thefirst time
and top them up again every secondmonth.
• Observe thebattery polarity markings on thecharger.
• Do not expose thecharger to water or sources of excessheat.
• Do not use thecharger if theconnection cableor power adaptor is damaged.
• Thecharger is only intended for indooruse.
• Thebatteries will become warm when charged, be careful when
removingthem.
• Only use theenclosed adaptor to power thecharger.
• Unplug theadaptor from thepower point when thecharger is not inuse.

Charging
1. Connect theadaptor to apower point and theDC plug to thecharger.
2. Insert 1 to 4 batteries (R03, R6, R14 or R20) according to thepolarity
markings on thecharger. Pressthem securely against thebottom.
9 V batteries (6F22) can be charged one or two at atime.
3. Thecharger determines thecorrect charge automatically.
Thedisplay’s icons graphically demonstrate thecharging process.
4. “CHARGE” is displayed when any battery is being charged.
Thedisplay will also illuminate as long as charging is in progress.
5. When all batteries are charged “FULL” will be displayed.
6. Disconnect theadaptor from thesocket and remove thebatteries when
charging is finished.
Incorrect batteries
Battery status: Whencharging commences thecharger makes sure that all
thebatteries are capable of being recharged and that none of them is inserted
incorrectly. Ifany of thebatteries cannot be charged or are misaligned, “BAD”
will be shown and theicon for thecorresponding battery willflash. Charging is
interrupted until thefault has been corrected (i.e. thedefective battery has been
removed or realigned).
