4/8-way AV switch

TheAV switchesAVS-402 andAVS-802 were designed to interconnect the inputsand outputs of audio-

visualdevices(AVdevices). Fouror eightAVsources canbe switchedmanually orautomatically toup to

two TV monitors.

• Forswitching fourAV sources(audio, composite video and s-video television signals)to up to

two television monitors

• Typicalapplications are security or information systems in shopping centres, schools, hotels,

railway stations, airports etc.

• 4 inputs (Cinch composite), manually or automatically switchable

•Automatic switching time adjustable from 1 to 25 seconds

• Simultaneous recording to one or two video or DVD recorders

Setting intoOperation

•Before your initial start-up, please make sure that there are no transport damages.

Should there be any, do not take the device intooperation and immediately consultyour

dealer.

•Operate thedevice onlyafter havingfamiliarized withits functions.Do notpermit operation by

personsnot qualified for operatingthe device.

•Protect thedevice against humidity andheat. Keep away fromheatersand other heatingsources!

•We recommend a frequent cleaning ofthe device. Disconnect from mainsfirst. Use a soft lint-free and

moistenedcloth. Never use alcoholor solvents!

• There arenoserviceable partsinsidethedevice.Maintenanceand service operationsareonly to be

carried outbyauthorizeddealers.

•Damage, caused bymanual modificationsonthe device arenot subjectto warranty.Ifthe deviceis

used for other purposesthan originally intendedor ifit is notcorrectly connected, the productmay

suffer damagesand theguaranteebecomesvoid.

TheAVdistributor mustbe poweredby thesupplied 12V,500 mApower unitonly.The powerunit is

allowed to be operated with analternatingcurrent of100-230 VAC, 50/60 Hz. The power unit falls

under protection-class2 and the deviceunder protection-class 3. Bothdevices were designed for

indoor useonly.

When connecting, pay attention to the color coding of the connection jacks:

yellow=video signal

red=audio signal right

white=audio signal left

ConnecttheAVoutputs ofthe source devices (e.g.

DVD player, VCR,AV receiver) tothe AV jacksofthe

AV switch.

Connect the outputsoftheAV switch to the input of

your TVset, VCRorhi-fisystem.

Switch off the devices to be connected before

connectingthem to the jacks. Do not turn them on

again untilyouhavemadeallnecessaryconnections.

Connectthe supplied power unitto the 12 VDCIN jack.

Plug the power unitintoyouroutlet. As soon as the

device issupplied with power,the POWERindicator

lights up.

Switch yourTV-sets orrecordingunits tothe AV

program slot(seetheoperating instructionsofthe

respective units). Therecordingfunctionmust be

started on any recordingdevicesaswell.

Start playbackontheAV sourceunit.

The MANUAL/AUTO switchenables youtotoggle betweenautomaticandmanual switchingofthe

channelswhich are then assignedtotheoutputsoftheAVswitch. When set toMANUAL,the

channels are selectable through theCHANNEL SELECT switch.When set to AUTO,theswitching

timecan be adjusted from1 to 25 secondswith the control 1-25 SEC.
