2Safety

2.1Safety instructions

–Only use the product in original status without unauthorised modifications.

–Only use the product if it is in perfect technical condition.

–Take into consideration the ambient conditions at the location of use.

–Prior to mounting, installation and maintenance work: Switch off power sup-

ply and secure it from being switched back on.

2.2Intended Use

The purpose of the valve unit is to control a pneumatic cylinder in balancer applic-

ations.

The product is intended for use in industrial environments. Outside industrial

environments, e.g.in commercial and residential/mixed-use areas, it may be

necessary to take measures to suppress radio interference.

2.3Training of skilled personnel

Installation, commissioning, maintenance and disassembly should only be con-

ducted by qualified personnel.

The specialized personnel must be familiar with the installation and operation of

electrical and pneumatic control systems.

5Product overview

5.1Functional Principle

The valve unit consists of a 3/3-way proportional-pressure regulator and

two2/2-way valves. The purpose of the 3/3-way proportional-pressure regulator

is to regulate the cylinder pressure and the cylinder position. The two2/2-way

valves serve as non-return valves for shutting off the cylinder volume in the event

of an error (loss of voltage, fall in pressure, too high travel speed, etc.). For

increased safety requirements, the valve unit can be equipped with switching pos-

ition sensing for the non-return valves (VPCB-...-T22-M).

6Mechanical installation

1.Make sure there is sufficient space for the connecting cable and tubing con-

nections.

This will prevent kinks from forming in the connecting cables and the

tubing.

2.Place the valve as close to the consumer as possible.

This leads to better control response.

3.Attach the valve using the 4 screw holes M5 (10mm deep) under the valve or

on the valve side with the pneumatic connections (1) and (3). Tightening

torque: 5Nm£
